Aircraft Specific Survey and Equipment Training (ASSET™) The FACTS® ASSET™ training program is an 8-hour, aircraft-specific aircrew emergency training program designed for team-training of pilots, flight engineers and flight attendants. The program, including classroom discussion and hands-on practice with emergency equipment and evacuation procedures, can be used in conjunction with other FACTS Training courses to meet the requirements. Typically, instruction begins at 0800 and ends at 1700. Each crewmember receives a personal workbook and a certificate of participation upon successfully completing the program. ASSET training programs allow for program customization to meet operation-specific needs in a simple one-day format. In addition to the Aircraft Specific Survey and Equipment Training with the aircraft, the flight department has a choice of three additional FACTS subjects:
FAR §91.505 (b) Familiarity with operating limitations and emergency equipment - "each required member of the crew shall, before beginning a flight, become familiar with the emergency equipment installed on that airplane to which that crewmember is assigned and with the procedures to be followed for the use of that equipment in an emergency situation." FAR §135.331 Pilot and flight attendant crewmember training programs. (a) Each certificate holder, other than one who uses only one pilot in the certificate holder's operations, shall establish and maintain an approved pilot training program, and each certificate holder who uses a flight attendant crewmember shall establish and maintain an approved flight attendant training program, that is appropriate to the operations to which each pilot and flight attendant is to be assigned, and will ensure that they are adequately trained to meet the applicable knowledge and practical testing requirements of §135.293 through §135.301. FAR §121.417 Crewmember emergency training. (a) Each training program must provide the emergency training set forth in this section with respect to each airplane type, model, and configuration, each required crewmember, and each kind of operation conducted, insofar as appropriate for each crewmember and the certificate holder. |
