News Worthy FACTS Training Expands Hypoxia Awareness to Russia (OLYMPIA, WA - June 4, 2008). FACTS Training, a division AirCare Solutions Group, recently completed its first emergency procedures training exercise in Russia. Contracted by SAT Airlines, based in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, FACTS provided Hypoxia Awareness Training to eighty crewmembers over a four day training period. Using the FACTS Hypoxia Awareness Training device, the world's only computer controlled hypoxia trainer, in a safe classroom environment, FACTS delivered real-time computer assessments of the psychomotor and cognitive impairments resulting from the created hypoxia. The device is capable of simulating operating altitudes to 30,000 feet familiarizing crewmembers with the dangerous and paralyzing effects of hypoxia in a safe, classroom setting. During the training, crewmembers have the opportunity to experience and learn to recognize their own individual symptoms of hypoxia. The FACTS HAT™ changes the composition of the gas mixture inhaled, thereby eliminating the potential risks and after effects involved in using a decompression chamber. "Our goal is to be the frontrunner in providing new and challenging training experiences for corporate crewmembers", said Doug Mykol, CEO, of the AirCare Solutions Group. He went on to say, "The FACTS Hypoxia Awareness Trainer is used in all FACTS emergency training programs or can be brought to the operator, onsite, as we did for this successful training in Russia." Hypoxia awareness can be a life saving experience. Since the Payne Stewart and Helios accidents, high altitude and hypoxia awareness has been a priority for crewmembers. With the ever-increasing costs of training, travel, the loss of the crewmember's time traveling to decompression chamber sites and the possible negative side effects inherent in decompression chamber training, the FACTS Hypoxia Awareness Training device is now an alternative, which can be transported to any training site in the world.
